Child
Protection
BLTSC
is committed to creating and maintaining the safest possible
environment for children and young people to enjoy using
the Club and playing racket sports.
We
do this by:
- Appointing
a Child Protection Officer who is responsible for children
and young people, who will take central responsibility
for child safety and who will act as the main point of
contact for parents, children and outside agencies.
- Recognising
that all children and young people, have the right to
freedom from abuse and to be safe and secure.
- Ensuring
that all our coaching staff are CRB checked and by, as
a Club, accepting responsibility for helping to prevent
the abuse of children and young people in our care.
- Ensuring
that junior members and other juniors and young people
have specific programmes designated for them, with adequate
supervision.
- By
circulating this policy statement to all Club Officials,
Staff and adult members and urging them all to be watchful
for potential concerns.
- Responding
swiftly, appropriately and with proper regard to confidentiality,
to all suspicions or allegations of abuse and by providing
parents and children with the opportunity to voice any
concerns they may have.
- Ensuring
access to confidential information regarding child protection
is restricted to the Child Protection Officer or the appropriate
external authorities.
- Reviewing
the effectiveness of our Child Protection Policy and related
issues annually.
